FROM VCHA TO GIRLSET: A POP REAWAKENING
BY LUNA CARDOSO
Formerly known as VCHA, the six-piece have stepped into their new era with Commas – a punchy, confident pop anthem that shimmers with self-assurance. Red, black, and white – the boldest colours in the palette – bleed through the visuals, signalling something fierce, something decisive. it's less of a rebrand and more of a rebirth.

The name itself, GIRLSET, feels like a line drawn in glitter and defiance. It's about setting who they are, not waiting for anyone else to define it. "We're our own person and we decide who we want to be," they say.

With Commas, they'Re bridging worlds. Teaming up with powerhouse producers Tommy Brown and Theron Thomas, GIRLSET leans into a more western sound but with a creative fingerprint that's unmistakably their own. It's pop that celebrates independence, both financial and emotional, but beneath the sparkle is something deeper: self-worth – knowing your value even when no one else sees it yet.
There's a maturity now that wasn't there before. You can hear it in the precision of their harmonies, in the polish of their choreography, in the way they talk about who they've become. The girls who once auditioned for A2K – raw, bright-eyed, hopeful – have grown into artists who know their vision down to the smallest detail. They've studied their diols (Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande), but they've also outgrown imitation. GIRLSET exists in a lane entirely of their own – one built on cultural blend, creative exploration, and bold femininity.

Commas is their curtain rise – a glimmering start to a new story. It's the sound of evolution, of confidence stitched with vulnerability. And as they gear up for what's next – more songs, more stages, more ways to show who they've always been – GIRLSET isn't just setting themselves apart.

They're setting the tone for what girl groups can be again.
